Research On International Student Admission And Management

China has witnessed rapid development in higher education and the international exchanges of higher education have increased exponentially in past several decades.An increasing number of international students have shown their interests in studying in China.Chinese universities now are facing a number of challenges in international student admission and management.With the experience and lessons learnt from previous practical work in international student admission and management,this paper attempts to give some valuable recommendations to Chinese higher educational institutions to improve their performance in international student admission and management.Some key concepts of international student admission and management in this paper were explained and defined firstly.Then the current situations of international student admission and management in China and other countries were analyzed theoretically.The relevant literatures of international student admission and management were review subsequently.Z University was taken as a case to analyze the current challenges all Chinese higher educational institutions could be facing.All potential solutions to these challenges were also explored and examined.Based on analysis,suggestions of international student admission,such as building a strong admission team,using flexible and variable promotion strategies,constructing different admission channels and promoting variety programs were proposed.On the other hand,suggestions in the area of international student management were also proposed,such as international student education and training program needs to be constantly optimized,international professional curriculum system is required to be established and international student self-discipline system needs further improvement.A package of recommendations to improve Z University's international reputation and international student admission as well as management was also proposed in this paper.
