With the tendency of diversification of pre-school education assessment, the level of satisfaction of parents, who are the key subject of evaluation, is supposed to be appreciated and worth to be an important assessment rubric. Parents’ satisfaction refers to the subjective evaluation of whether the education services meet their requirements, by making a comparison of their personal experience with their expectation.Based on the theory of service quality and customer satisfaction degree, this essay establishes a system of assessment criteria of pre-school education. It combines the current researches on pre-school education assessment in home and aboard, and particularly, takes the “gold standard” from Australia as a model.This essay makes an empirical analysis of the satisfaction degree of parents in our society from four dimensions of quality: the quality of institution, the quality of education and faculty, the quality of childcare, and the quality of communication between kindergarten and family. Further, the main factors which have an effect on parents’ satisfaction on pre-school education will be discussed. The basic conclusions of this essay are reached as follows: 1. the overall satisfaction degree of parents towards pre-school education is relatively high, with an average of 4.51 in 5; 2. The quality of communication between kindergarten and family gains the highest degree of satisfaction from parents, followed by the childcare quality, education and faculty quality, and institutional quality in the last place; 3. factors which influence the parents’ satisfaction degree include: parental education, kindergarten size, class characteristics,time-consumption of taking children to school, as well as the charge of kindergarten. Based upon the researches above, this essay makes three suggestions: 1. an increased funding should be given to the kindergarten construction; 2. a more featured education should be taken into account; 3. improve the quality of teaching staffs; 4. properly arrange the layout and scale of the kindergarten.
