Networked video courseware is a new development concept about online learning resources, which creatively puts forward a new mode for construction of curriculum resources containing “education”, “video” and “game” through integrating educational technology with interactive video and the ninth art. At present, the networked video courseware is in a rising stage of study, and more related researches are in the theoretical level, and less involved in practical level. Therefore, how to integrate theory with practice, to construct the concrete theory supporting system for the design and development mode of the networked video courseware are the key points of this study. Therefore, this study making the flow theory system as a starting point, puts forward a design theory system for the specific design of the video game based on the flow theory. In this system, we focus on four aspects of the design of video game: video game goal analysis, video game situation creation, video game play design and video game elements design, in which, in the creation of the video game situation, we study further the relationships between the role design and the flow experience, and put forward several levels. On the basis of the design, a case study of video game is made.In this paper, by constructing the video game design theory system based on flow theory and case development, we promotes the further development of the networked video courseware to make the networked video courseware from the initial theoretical framework to gradually become a new model maneuverability of the network curriculum development, which prompts curriculum developers to develop more and higher quality networked video courseware resources by utilizing this design mode.
