In order to promote national music art, inherit and develop traditional Chinese folk music culture, the Ministry of Education in the "Music Curriculum Standards of Compulsory Education"(2011 Edition) clearly put forward to make full use of the local curriculum resources, and create a good internal and external environment of teaching music, rich with regional culture and national culture.Xingguo folk songs,a form of folk music with the regional characteristics, are also in danger at present.We should protect and inherit this precious culture by education for fear of disappearing.In this paper, music education of Xingguo folk songs teaching condition is taken as the breakthrough point.We combine literature analysis, field survey, data analysis and with summary method.What is more,we carry out an investigation about present teaching situation of 5 primary schools and 3 secondary schools in Xingguo County.Also,we do a survey for teachers and students respectively so as to understand classrooms’ teaching condition, students’ learning situation, and teachers’ folk literacy.The attitude of parents and leaderships is also taken into consideration.The results of the survey indicates that exist a series of problems.Therefore,we make a deep analysis and try to put forward some countermeasures.The introduction part of this present paper states the research origin, the research value, research methods.In chapter one,we make a brief overview of Xingguo folk song Xingguo folk songs, including the formation and development of the aesthetic connotation, folk songs, folk value.The second chapter is an investigation and analysis of this paper.The questionnaire about folk songs into the campus is carried out among teachers and students in 8 schools of Xingguo County. Problems and shortcomings are revealed.In chapter three,we make a discussion about the results under the guidance of music education theory and try to put forward some countermeasures for the inheritance of Xingguo folk songs in fundamental music education.The last part is a conclusion and summary about the whole paper.
