With the vigorous development of higher education and the strong support from the country, the number of minority students in mainland colleges and universities is increasing. Minority students as a special group, their educational management has become a matter of concern. As one of the comprehensive universities in Northwest Chain,the C University gathers the minority students from all parts of the country. C University has been always paying attention to minority students’ educational management.Under such circumstances, how to optimize the educational management of minority students, and how to enhance the scientificity of management become more important.Based on the systemic analysis of the higher educational management work for minority students in mainland Chain, combined with the literature analysis and investigation method, this thesis studies the current situation of minority students’ educational management in mainland colleges and universities. On the basis of summing up the previous research results, the background and significance of higher educational management of minority students will be discussed; the relevant concepts, theoretical framework,objectives,principles,and the content of minority students’ educational management will be illustrated. In order to find out problems existing in the current situation, by using questionnaire, the present study investigates the actual state of the minority students’ educational management of C University in Shaanxi from five perspectives of educational management: objectives,contents, methods, institutional setup and manager teams. By analyzing the causes of these problems, the educational management work for minority students will be raised to the height of systemic level and then suggestions for optimization will be proposed.First, change the concepts of management:attache great importance to the educational management of minority students,set out the people-oriented educational idea and pay attention to the "service based, supplemented by management" management idea. Second, establish clear management objectives: subdivide the management objectives and scientifically instruct students to set development goals. Third, improve the working methods of educational management: introduce network education, adopt model education and courage practice education. Fourth,enrich the content of educational management: improve the ideological and political education, and strengthen the instruction on students’ employment. Fifth, perfect educational management system and maintain the accrual parity principle. Sixth, perfect the organization system of educational management: establish the three-dimensional organization system and set up special minority student organizations.Seventh, strengthen the construction of manager teams: enhance the professional level of educational manager and build up the team with reasonable ethnic composition.
