Guizhou as the seventh batch of a new round of basic education curriculum reform experiment is one of the provinces, beginning in the fall of 2010, the full implementation of a new round of ordinary high school curriculum reform.The new curriculum reform changed the traditional "cramming education mode of teaching", pay more attention to the all-round development of students, teachers, the class changes the concrete operator, will also shoulder the responsibility of the more difficult.A new round of basic education curriculum reform in our province, however, progress is very slow, largely because the teachers’ professional quality can’t meet the requirements of the reform. Therefore, this study based on the new curriculum reform ideas, establish the Guizhou province high school geography teachers’ professional qualities of survey research, through the understanding of Guizhou province high school geography teacher’s professional quality status, and put forward to further enhance the measures for improving the professional quality of teachers, to better respond to the call of the new curriculum reform, promote the development of Guizhou basic education curriculum reform.This paper adopts the method of questionnaire,choose to participate in the first-line geography teacher in 2015 in Guizhou Province high school geography open class assessment activities as the research object. from the "from teaching knowledge", "from teaching ability" and "from teaching affection" three dimensions of Guizhou province high school geography teacher professional quality has carried on the investigation and analysis, by analyzing the survey found that:(1) High school geography teachers professional quality overall general, just can meet the needs of teaching, but can not meet the new curriculum for teachers’ professional quality requirements;(2) various quality performance is not balanced. Teachers can better grasp the course knowledge, but comprehensive knowledge, lack of knowledge of educational theory, from the ability to teach, curriculum development and research capability is relatively weak, which is particularly evident younger teachers, teachers’ professional affection good overall performance;(3) teachers title structure has improved and the quality of different professional grade teachers are quite different;(4) teacher’s self-learning awareness is not strong;(5) teacher’s self-reflection ability is insufficient and needs to be improved.The article in view of the status quo and the problems existing in the current Guizhou Province high school geography teacher’s professional quality, and through the dig deeper into the reasons of the status quo, respectively from the four angles of teachers, schools and normal universities, government put forward the further enhance the professional quality of teachers of operation, in order to better response the call of the new curriculum reform and promote the development of Guizhou basic education curriculum reform.
