The elementary education reform in the period of compulsory education is implemented in Guizhou province, the new curriculum standard of mathematics will be carried out in senior middle school. Whether the basic education reform can be further implemented or not, is restricted by external and internal factors in education, as the function of teachers is particularly important. The mathematics curriculum standard in the period of compulsory education and senior high school has changed a lot in the aspects of education concept, teaching goal, module design, teaching mode, learning method, evaluation mode, the organization and presentation mode of teaching materials, the utilization and development of course resources, which demand higher requirement to teachers. The paper investigates the quality status of mathematics teachers of middle schools in poverty-stricken areas by the concept of new curriculum standard, excavates the fundamental problems which the mathematics teachers faced with. Then learn from others for reference to teacher development at home and abroad, further find the method to develop the quality of mathematics teachers in local area. The article is divided into five parts.The first part is the presentation of questions, beginning with the practical conflict of education backward and students'unease opportunity of education in poor rural area, based on the principle that economy development process is closely related to the public's education level. At last outlines the necessity and important significance of the research on such problems.The second part is the history and current situation of study on teachers'quality, summarizes the history and current status of teachers'development at home and abroad, then points out thought of status research on in middle school mathematics teachers'quality in poverty-stricken areas in Guizhou province in combination of practice.The third part points out the developing tendency of students'mathematical quality results from the guide of mathematics education, and reflects the quality of mathematics teachers in some extent by the investigation on middle school students. Then from the developing tendency of students'mathematics quality , the author finds out the status of mathematics teachers'quality and the background of mathematics education by the comparison of different grades in middle school.The forth part understands the quality and developing background of middle school mathematics teachers with the investigation and questionnaire survey in combination of classroom observation and interviews. Then grasp wholly the quality of mathematics teachers and developing background on the basis of former part.The last part gives suggestion to the improvement of mathematics teachers'quality in middle school on the basis on the formerly relative analysis, points out that the only way to improve teachers'quality in poverty-stricken areas and make them come the way of specialization development is to perfect the education evaluation system and competition mechanism, implement systematic training on teachers and promote self-perfection, which comes from three aspects as boosting strength, energy replenishment and inner power. It should be stressed that each aspect must be rational combined to set up and perfecta series of system that beneficial to the specialization development of teachers.
