Chinese teaching has crucial aesthetic value. Common High school Chinese Curricula Standard points out,Chinese plays an important role in aesthetic education and high school Chinese teaching should pay attention to student emotion development and nurture students with beauty.The Standard states that students should have autonomic awareness and elegant taste of beauty, aesthetic sensitivity and creativity. Modern prose, which is also called“Aesthetic Articles”, has great aesthetic connotation. Such aesthetic connotation grants modern prose crucial aesthetic value in Chinese teaching.Due to many reasons, the application of aesthetic education in modern prose teaching has not been successfully implemented. Based on studies of former researchers, my research includes a comprehensive and detailed analysis on the PEP high school language textbooks in modern prose. To analyze a current situation of contemporary prose teaching aesthetic education, a survey was conducted among students and teachers in Guiyang sixth middle school. We expected to find specific problems in modern prose aesthetic education in teaching and to propose effective strategies to solve these problems.This article focuses on practical strategies in modern prose school teaching and aesthetic education. In terms of teaching strategies, we need to perceive the language, understand the emotion and culture aesthetic perception; by means of association and imagination, we should improve the aesthetic appreciation. In addition,the author use Yu dafu’s“Autumn in Peiping”as an example, design a lesson plan.
