“Teaching based on the gender differences”is a teaching method which advocated by single-sex education theory. With this theory, effectiveteaching activities areusually carried out based on students’ physical and mental characteristics, so that to promote the students’ comprehensive quality. At the same time, the flexibility of the school-based curriculum in space and time makes itself a practical and feasible way to meet the needs of the single-sex education.Topic of this research mainly focuses on thecombinationof single-sex education and the development of school-based curriculum. This article fitsthe research and practice gapin school-based curriculum development, which referes to the ignorance of gender difference.This paper used three research methods. They are literature research method, investigation method and case study method. The research object is a curriculum development case of Wuxi No.1 girls’ high school, named Girls’ Life Planning course. This research takes Oliva curriculum development mode as its investigation and evaluation theoretical framework. The authorraised several effective strategies and suggestionsforthe school itself and ordinary middle schools.The study found:(1) Wuxi No.1 girls’ high school on the one handattaches great importance to exploringthe schooling base of national curriculums, on the other hand pays more attention to the thinking and learning characteristics of female students, and exploring more suitable and effective learning models for girls when developing the due course. It finnaly reached the initial curriculum development goals and ideas.(2) It often needs more attention on the “students-oriented” theory, when it comes to school-based curriculum development based on gender differences. And the development process of “female students’ life planning” is short of the participation of the students, which influences the effectiveness of the curriculum implementation to a certain extent.(3) Based on the above two points: school-based single-sex education curriculum development’s needs analysis, target concept, team building, organizational politics, programming, compilation of teaching materials, curriculum implementation and evaluationshould ultimately focus on student’s lifelong happiness and healthy growth. Dvelopers should take male and female students’ physical and intellectual characteristics, potential, interest and other comprehensive literacy into consideration, and construct a real rich course.
