Gender socialization has always been a hot topic in psychology, and the development of awareness of gender equality and gender roles are important contents of gender socialization, which has attracted great attention from researchers. The research on gender equality consciousness mainly concentrated in the field of sociology and research objects were not involved in the children; And on the study of gender role, even if there are children as the research object, but also mostly for the theoretical study, empirical research less. Studies have shown that gender values has an effect on gender roles, and awareness of gender equality as a special kind of gender values,how its relationship with gender roles, so far no one study about it,which has also found an opportunity for this study. To ascertain the relationship between don’t equal consciousness and gender roles, is of great significance for children’s gender socialization and gender education. At the same time, the increasingly fierce competition of society today,from kindergarten began training the consciousness of gender equality, to help them get rid of the shackles of the traditional gender culture, create a more robust and flexible gender characteristics, thus better meet the challenge.Therefore, this study intends to cut from the perspective of gender equality awareness, and compile the 3-6 years old children gender equality consciousness questionnaire,taking 250 3-6 years old children as the research object, though the one-on-one of survey with young children, focus on understanding the development of children’s gender equality awareness; At the same time, revising "the children’s gender role questionnaire",and knowing the development tendency on young children’s gender role; finally, to further explore the influence of young children’s gender equality awareness of gender role inclination. Through research, enrich the research content of gender equality awareness, to find the strategy which promote young children’s gender equality awareness and gender role development, Extending it to the kindergarten’s gender role education practice,and promoting young children’s gender socialization. The main conclusions of this study are as follows:1. The "3-6 years old young children’s gender equality awareness questionnaire" includes 17 items, divided into five dimensions: ability, character, occupation, housework, toys or activities, the questionnaire has good reliability and validity. It can be used as a tool to measure the gender equality awareness of young children.2.3 year old young children already have the consciousness of gender equality. The 3-6 years old young children s gender equality awareness general developement trend which is gradually decreased with the increase of age.3.3-6 years old children’s gender equality awareness development of the characteristics dimension in the middle low levelowhile the other four dimensions of development in the medium high level.The five dimensions score rate is: housework>ability>occupation>toys or activities>character.4.3-6 years old children’s gender equality consciousness total score and each dimension in age there are significant differences, but specific differences vary; there are also significant differences in the kindergarten category, kindergarten children in urban public awareness of gender equality was significantly higher than that of township private kindergarten children’s awareness of gender equality.5.The majority of 3-6 year old children’s gender role inclination is androgyny, In male children, the masculinity is the most individuals, and in famale children, the masculinity is the most individuals.6.3-6 years old children’s gender equality awareness and each dimension and the male and female scale scores have significantly positive correlation, the awareness of gender equality can significantly predict children’s masculinity and femininity inclination, significantly negative predict the difference between masculinity and femininity characteristics. |
