A Study Of Gender Equality Awareness Of Female College Students

In recent years,the proportion of female college students exceeds that of male college students.Female college students are both physically and psychologically distinct from male college students.Research on this group is necessary.Gender awareness and gender equality awareness are important aspects of gender socialization.How the gender equality consciousness of contemporary female college students not only affects the female college students' own development,but also relates to the harmony and stability of the relationship between the sexes.Therefore,the cultivation of female college students' gender equality awareness has become an important issue facing families,schools and society today.This study mainly includes four parts:The first part is the introduction,which mainly discusses the reasons for the research,the research significance and methods as well as the definition and research status of important concepts.The definition of "gender equality","gender awareness",and "female college students' gender equality awareness " was defined.Through the analysis of existing researches,we find out the shortcomings of the current research and propose this research question.The second part is the empirical investigation of the status quo of gender equality awareness of female college students.After investigation,it shows that: 1.Contemporary female college students have a weak sense of gender equality and are only at a medium level.The three dimensions of gender sensitivity,gender ability,and gender division of labor are all at a medium level.2.There are significant differences in gender equality awareness among female college students of different grades.With the increase of grade,the gender equality awareness of female college students gradually weakens.There are significant differences in gender sensitivity of female college students of different grades.The gender sensitivity of female college students decreases with the increase of grade.However,there is no significant difference between female college students of different grades in terms of gender ability and gender division of labor.3.There is no significant difference in gender equality awareness among female college students of different specialties.4.There is a significant difference ingender equality awareness between urban female college students and female college students from rural areas.Urban female college students have stronger gender equality awareness than rural students,also in terms of gender sensitivity,gender ability,gender division of labor,urban female college students are stronger than rural female college students.5.There is no significant difference in gender equality awareness among female college students with only children and non-only children.6.There are significant differences in gender equality awareness between female college students serving as student cadres and female college students who are not student cadres,and female college students serving as student cadres have stronger gender equality awareness than female college students who are not student cadres.Female college students who are student cadres have significantly higher gender ability than female students who are not student cadres,however,there is no significant difference between gender sensitivity and gender division of labor.The third part is the cause analysis of the status quo of female college students' gender equality awareness.We believe that the main reasons for the lack of gender equality awareness among female college students are: lack of gender-equality social environment,lack of gender education,gender stereotyped family education,and female college students' unconscious self-deprecating.The fourth part is the choice of training path for gender equality awareness of female college students.Based on the analysis of the current situation and causes of the gender equality consciousness of female college students in the first two parts,From the three aspects of creating a good education environment,enriching education content of gender equality awareness education and constructing the three-in-one education model of family,school and self-education,put forward corresponding educational strategies.
