The Research Of Cultural Function And Realization Approach For Chinese University Anthem

University anthem is a concise humanistic spirit for the university. It is a crystallization of university history, tradition and spiritual culture. The anthem is formulated with guiding role and education function for the whole school but also the embodiment of education ideology and characteristic. The universities in different era have different character. During the Republican period, especially the period of the War of Resistance Against Japan, most of the universities take saving the nation and resistance as the theme. After the foundation of the People’s Republic of China, the main theme of university anthem is about country construction and contribution. Nowadays, we give more attention to the university anthem and its development contents more about their own characters. Through the history of university anthem and data collection we make out the university anthem’s culture function, guiding role, transmission function and education function. With the investigation of students and graduates we know there are still a lot of problems for university anthem’s development. First we should make more effort for publication of anthem. Then we can do the education of anthem with more different ways. Third, all the people in the campus should take participation in the event of anthem. At last, take the construction of university anthem as an important part of the university system. We could make full use of the anthem in the development of university and provide a safeguard for the system perfection.
