Application Research On The Performance Maturity Model Of College And University Informationization In The Context Of Synergetics

With constant development of informationization, its application in education has experienced from just infrastructure to all aspects. In the 21 st century, the education informationization construction and application level throughout the world has improved quite a lot. Its development has stepped on a brand new stage. As one of the most important branches, college and university informationization is of great significance during the history of education informationization. As a complex systems engineering, college and university informationization has to start from the research on the general and macro situation. A performance evaluation on college and university informationization is a powerful guarantee towards sound and rapid development.Based on analyzing the development situation of the evaluation on education informationization at home and abroad, this thesis tries to learn from some advantages of the existing evaluation index system from the perspective of synergetics by using the application results of synergetic theory on other areas. By taking the maturity thoughts used in software engineering for reference, this thesis puts forward the performance maturity model of college and university informationization in the context of synergetics. With this model, this thesis has made an evaluation on China West Normal University concerning college and university informationization and its application level. It has analyzed the current situation of college and university informationization construction and has found the problems and obstacles to informationization construction, as a living example of the model evaluation. Major content of this research is as follows:Firstly, through literature research, questionnaire and consulting of experts’ comments, this thesis has created a performance maturity evaluation index system concerning college and university informationization. With this index system and the synergetic theory, this thesis has managed to create a per formance maturity model concerning college and university informationization including “chaos level”, “development level”, “orderly-to-be level”, “orderly level” and “synergetic level”, so as to decide the informationization level of a college or university.Secondly, this thesis, taking China West Normal University as an example, has designed an application process for performance maturity in college and university informationization. Through questionnaire and interview, this thesis has made a summery on the university’s informationization construction condition and its current application situation. By a contrast to the college and university informationization performance maturity model level and the index standard, this thesis has managed to know the level of this university in the performance maturity model and has found some problems and shortcomings of this university concerning informationization construction, which will provide guidance and basis for its future informationization construction.
