With the rapid development of social economy and the reform of new curriculum, the traditional teaching model can not content students’ desires for knowledge, it often occurs that few students are interested in English learning. And, this teaching model not only ignores students’ self-demanding in class so as to have a bad impact on their potential abilities, but also makes no interaction between students and teachers. However, Guided Learning Plan(GLP), shifting the passive learning into active learning, makes an English class a lively and common one shared by students and teachers, in which students can develop themselves in a free and fruitful teaching procedure. This paper applied the GLP teaching model to English teaching in Junior High Schools. Research instruments include questionnaire, observation and individual interview. This paper consists of five parts. Chapter 1 introduces the background, the significance of the research and the structure. Chapter 2involves the definition, the basic feature of GLP, the implement principle and its related researches at home and abroad. Chapter 3 is the research design. Chapter 4 dissects the experiment result and experiment by analyzing the statistics. And the last chapter is the conclusion part presenting findings, limitations and trends of the current research. The research concludes that GLP can cultivate student’s learning ability andthough there are some problems in designing and implementing GLP, it has a positive effect in helping students to advance their learning strategies.
