In the 21 st century, since the advent of the knowledge economy and the information age, the international competition is becoming increasingly fierce. Due to the situation that economic and technological development is largely dependent on the development of education, and the quality of education is almost depending on teachers,so teacher education is becoming more and more important in the whole world.Most of the countries have built an integrated system of teacher education.In the system of teacher education,the induction of new qualified teachers is an important component.Through induction,NQTs can enhance their theoretical knowledge and practical ability,and the same time their awareness of career and ability to adapt to the new environment is improving.The implement of teacher induction in Ireland is effective and plays an important role in teachers professional development.This thesis is started with the development course of induction of NQTs,then introducing the structure of induction,following with the specific implement.Mentoring as the important form is also being analyzed in this part.Then the effectiveness and problems of the implement is analyzed in the following part.The last part of the thesis concludes the characteristics of teacher induction in Ireland and put forward forward recommendations for the current situation in China.This study consists of six parts.The first part is the introduction,which is mainly to clarify the significance of this study, define related concepts, present the research status of the topic, and describe research ideas and methods. The second part is the overview of the development course of Irish New Qualified Teacher Education in Primary and Post-primary Schools, introduces the three stages of the induction of Irish NQTs,which includes: the initial stage,the initial formation stage,the mature and perfect stage.The third part mainly describes the structure of induction of Irish primary and post-primary NQTs,including the basic idea of the induction, the objective,the main content and the main form etc.The fourth part describe the implementation of induction of Irish primary and post-primary NQTs,which is mainly about the basic process, and mentoring which is the most important form of teacher induction and evaluation of the whole process. The fifth part analyzes the effectiveness and current problems of the implementation of induction of Irish primary and post-primary NQTs. The sixth part is summed up the features induction of Irish primary and post-primary NQTs and put forward a useful reference to the Induction of Beginning Teachers in China.
