A Research On British New Qualified Teacher Training And Induction Policy

New qualified teachers are one of the special groups of teachers with its own features. It is very necessary to do effective entry guidance and support for new teachers. However, the traditional cultivating patterns of teachers'professional development have over-emphasized educational theory and paid much attention to educational principle and knowledge. As a result, it is difficult to adapt the situation in the initial period and hard to do very well in professional development for new teachers.It is long since Britain attended to the career training of the new qualified teachers. The British New Qualified Teacher Training and Induction Policy can be dated from the Second World War. This system was serving as a guide for the teaching practice and extensively used since later of 1970s in Britain. As the development of the further expanding to the career training of the new qualified teacher in 1990s, it has achieved great success.The primary purpose of Britain New Teacher Induction Policy is to combine teacher pre-training and post education, but it has been one of the most important factor on promoting teacher'professional development and career planning.
