The implementation of “ the senior middle school mathematics new curriculum standard ” is a new opportunity for the schools of Kashgar area in which the mathematics teaching is in low efficiency. The students of the senior middle school is facing troubles in mathematics learing: the achievement is not ideal and the development of thinking and ability is limited.First, this paper realizes the domestic and international research status of learning interest. On the basis of summary of a lot of documents, it tries to study the strategies to promote the learning interest of mathematics in Kashgar area.Second, this paper introduces the concepts and theories which is relevant to the research objective. The interest, the teaching strategies, the teacing effectivenss, constructivist learning theory, subject education theory, practice and recreation theory, the three principles in mathematics teaching are included.Third, this paper investigates the status of mathematics learing by questionnaire and interview, and writes the research report. The sample comes from the senior middle school of Yingsar county. The students’ interest in learning mathematics and the related factors are the survey targets.Fourth, this paper analysis the internal and external factors of the low interest in learning mathematics. The internal factors includes the fracture of knowledge structure, the low concentration of attention, the limitation of cognitive organization and so on. The external factors includes school and teacher, student and class and so on.this survey tell us something as there is so little interest in mathematics along the students and majority of students even don’t like math.In addition, students are keeping so little initiative in learning mathematics that they won’t ask teachers questions they doubt on their own initiative. Besides, students interest in math is related to how much they know about mathematics.On the basis of the above, this paper offers the strategies which is used to strengthen the learning interest in mathematics. The strategies includes the education of learning motivation, the trigger of curiosity, the divergence of thinking, the reform of teaching methods and so on.
