Smart homes as an important application in the field of Internet of things is developing rapidly.In recent years,a large number of intelligent household enterprises sprouted out in domestic market,meanwhile,traditional household appliance enterprises began their smart home career as well.Even major industries e.g Samsung and Google also Joined in the wave of the smart home study which shows that How to build a convenient efficient and inexpensive smart home system has important use value.In order to provide people a comfortable, convenient, smart living environment, an ARM9-based smart home system was designed in the paper taking use of embedded Linux technology ZigBee technology and QT technology.Initially, the background of the current intelligent household industry and its development status at home and abroad were introduced,then, combining the actual domestic household appliances and other household equipments, the overall architecture of smart home system was proposed and the hardware and software solutions were designed in this paper after investigating part of the user demand for the function of smart home and discussing the possibility of system implementation. From the functional perspective, this system can be divided into wireless sensor network subsystem and the infrared self-learning remote control subsystem.BOA server and user interaction pages are the cornerstone of the realization of this two subsystems functions. BOA server, HTML pages, and CGI spooler make it possiable for users to access smart home system at any time any place.After verifying user information,users are able to control household equipments、get residence information and control household appliances which have remote controllers. In wireless sensor network subsystem, a wireless sensor network subsystem which is suitable for residential interior was built under the circumstance of researching ZigBee wireless sensor network protocol and considing indoor layout. In the meantime, the coordinator, router nodes and terminal nodes were set and different application programs for these nodes were designed in this wireless sensor network. Moreover,in order to pave the way for the data transmission inside the wireless sensor network、the identification of data by all nodes and the extraction of key information, the data transfer standard which is applied in this wireless sensor network was set according to the design thought of computer network packets. Infrared self-learning remote control subsystem is a infrared self-learning remote control designed using ARM9technology, QT technology and WEBKIT technology.Combined with wireless sensor network subsystem,the infrared self-learning remote control achieve the function that users interact with most of the equipment in the family remotely. This paper particularly presents the design compiling and transplant of this Infrared self-learning remote controller QT main interface and the WEBKIT technology-based control method remotely. Test results indicate that, the Infrared self-learning remote controller enables users to control applications equipped with remote controllers remotely and intensively.In addition, Infrared self-learning remote controll has a number of distinct superiorities in terms of performance augmentability and adhibition in smart home.
