In the increasingly competitive market environment, how to stand out and getmore income is always the direction that the managers keep thinking and practicing.Six Sigma provides an advanced management mode and improved method.First of all, this thesis introduced T Factory, the engine factory of D Company inChina. It started from the current situation of T Factory, based on the basic conceptionand practical applicability, T Factory has been introduced Six Sigma implementationpresent situation and analyzes the research significance, and emphatically to theDMAIC process improvement and on the discussion Minitab data analysis tools. Thepaper outlines the T Factory enterprise background culture, products, developmentprogram, and gives a brief introduction of the basic knowledge of engine.Chapter Ⅳanalyzed the specific procedures and steps for improvement thequality of engine cylinder head problem of T factory by using the DMAIC method.Through customer feedback and analysis of related indicators, Water Jacket Plugleakage on cylinder head is the primary trouble affecting the quality of enginecylinder head. Team members use the Fishbone Diagram, Brain-Storming、C&EMatrix、FEMA and so on to summary and analyze, selected eight input variable.Minitab measures system analysis and process capability analysis. In the process, fourkey factors are identified through the analysis of relevant data by the tool technologylike, Hypothesis Testing、Box-plot、Multi-Vari Chart、ANOVA and so on. Then thefour factors are implemented of the improvement measures and verify its validity.After implementation, the group updated related quality documents of FMEA controlplan and maintenance plan. By the efforts of all the team members, the programachieved and exceeded the expected target successfully: the PPM of Water JacketPlug fell down to1888in2012, April from5155in2011, November, and stayed atthe levels around1400; FPY of production line rose to96.13%from91.29%andremained stable, which for the company saving the cost of CNY151540, and therework time is down to1380minutes. The successful of the whole program fullyproved the significance that DMAIC plays in process of improvement and qualitypromotion.
