The Research On The Development Of ReBAM Under The Background Of Urbanization

The rapid development of China’s urbanization has greatly improved the urbaneconomy level, and has brought changes to household’s consumption level andconsumption demand. It’s just under such condition that the recreational belt aroundmetropolis (ReBAM) is formed gradually. Meanwhile, ReBAM, in turn, has becomean important driving force for the construction of urbanization. Therefore, seizing andusing rationally the active and stimulative relations between the two is playing acrucial role in promoting the construction and planning of urbanization, as well as thedevelopment and construction of ReBAM.The development of ReBAM is affected by various factors such as tourismresources, location, tourist markets, social economy, transportation networks, and soon. Its spatial structure is limited by topography of the supporting central city. Therewill be great differences in development patterns and spatial structures for differentcities.The rapid expansion of the Nanchang urban area and the growing of thepopulation have laid the tourists foundation for the development of ReBAM. TheNanchang surrounding tourism resources and products are of great variety, largequantity and widespread, which provides a resource advantage for the development ofReBAM. However, Nanchang ReBAM still remains in the initial formation stage, andthe overall trend is not satisfactory. Therefore, with the urbanization as thebackground, under the guidance of ReBAM theory, leisure recreation planning theory,recreation space layout theory, and growth pole theory, the paper explores the positiveinteraction between the development of urbanization and the construction ofrecreational belt, in order to provide a beneficial help and guidance for thedevelopment of Nanchang ReBAM.Through questionnaire and analysis on the demographic characteristics,recreation behavior characteristics, the differences of tourism consumption and travelpreferences of Nanchang residents, this paper determines the spatial scope ofNanchang ReBAM: in the core area of Bayi Square within5km to100km around, dividing it into three belts, namely, suburban ring belt, rural ring belt, and exurbanring belt, and making a ring belt layout of ReBAM.In the end, to cope with the existing problems during the process of NanchangReBAM development, combined with the strategic objective of “to build Nanchang acore growth pole”, this paper proposes to build the spatial structure mode of “threebelts five areas” of Nanchang ReBAM. The paper also puts forward some proposalson the improvement of Nanchang ReBAM tourism products, the construction ofrecreational channel, service support and a series of development directions, andlooks forward to them.
