Accompanied by changes in the economic structure of the region as well as theincreasing major domestic ports’ competition, the coastal port logistics services are graduallypenetrating to the depth of the mainland, and the mainland ports associated linkage also havebeen new initiatives between ports and inland. If you continue to follow the traditional theexperience of the way, the situation is bound to lag behind the needs of development and benot conducive to maintain their competitiveness; ports associated with the economichinterland inland will bring a broad development prospects and potential for improvement, which are inseparable from the harbor-the Lu contact hub inland transportation network, itis necessary to carry on Guangzhou Port related inland transportation network optimizationstudy which may provide theoretical and practical guidance for the scientific development ofthe port and the hinterland.Firstly, the paper points out that the existing transportation network has been unable toadapt to the changing situation and the economic development of the hinterland to dramatizethe necessity of optimizing of Guangzhou Port’s container transportation network. And then, after analyzing the composition of container transportation network, the status of thecollection and distribution of Guangzhou Port shows two major problems: lacking of inlandcontainer depots and unreasonable inland collection and distribution line network. Meanwhile, the paper analyzed economic developments from two angles, the Pan-Pearl River Delta andPearl River Delta in order to further illustrate the need for container transportation networkoptimization, the paper adopts three exponential smoothing method and the revised GDPelasticity coefficient method for forecasting the coming period Guangzhou Port ContainerThroughput developments on short-term forecasts and long-term forecasts. the resultsdisplayed that Guangzhou would face rapid growth in container throughput speeds, whichexplains the necessity and urgency of optimization of Guangzhou Port Container Deliverysystem; In order to solve two major problems existing in the inland transportation network, thepaper layouts for inland container depots to optimize the design of cluster analysis model to determine the scope of the Pearl River Delta and the Pan-PRD regional priority candidatecities for the precise scope of the number of inland container depots for containertransshipment the optimum site layout plan, the paper constructed an example in the PearlRiver Delta cities inland transportation network optimal cost model; secondly, to addressinland collecting and distributing nets unreasonable question, the layout of collection anddistribution of inland transit station based on the Pan-Pearl River Delta cities in the studyobject carried on its wire mesh optimization, collection and distribution network isconstrained rail capacity after the release of the total cost of collection and distribution ofinland impact cases by establishing minimum cost model, the results show that after therailway constraint solving capabilities can bring considerable release18%of operating costsavings, and confirms the existing container trains density unable to meet the transport needsof the facts, which verifies the current inland collecting and distributing nets unreasonable. There should be a modest increase in the density of railway container trains to ease thepressure of inland transportation network. The paper tried to solve the Guangzhou Port inland transportation network optimizationproblems from two points of views, inland transportation network node (inland containerdepots) and inland transportation network cable (collection and distribution channel), hopingto provide solutions to similar ports, as well as providing new ideas for the future ofGuangzhou Port in adapting to future development.
