Research On The Problems And Countermeasures Of Operation And Management In Guangdong Science Center

Science and technology museum in our country is a kind of public infrastructure,constructed by public finance investment, it is a nonprofit public welfare undertakings, andaims at providing popularization science education for the majority of the people, especiallythe teenagers. To make science and technology museum has eternal vitality after its opening,it must have an endure attraction to the public. And to form this kind of attraction, will rely onoperation management to constantly adapt to the change of the situation, to meet new demandof public.Guangdong science center was opened in2008, and has received more than700viewers.According to their own characteristics, they had come up with a new operation managementpattern suitable for their own development. However, in the fierce market competition, someproblems appeared gradually, such as insufficient funds, high rate of exhibits damage, thedisplay content fail to keep pace with science and technology, single exhibition and teachingform, insufficient in constructing science and teaching team, inflexible managementmechanism, innovative ideas need to be strengthen, etc. These problems have restricted thesurvival and the relevant functions of the play, thus to realize the modernization of scienceand technology museum management operation is imminent.Based on the documents, relevant policies and regulations, and actual work experience,combined with the related theories and methods of public management, this paper useGuangdong Science Center as the research object, using observation analysis and practicalinvestigation and research, and other research methods, through the analysis of thedevelopment history of science and technology museum both in China and abroad,comparative study of domestic and foreign science and technology museum currentoperational management situation, research and summary of Guangdong science centeroperation operational management mode, to study its actual effect of Guangdong ScienceCenter’s operation and management, and based on the problems, this paper suggests thatscientific positioning it’s development goal, introducing advanced operational managementmechanism, paying attention to exhibition education and optimizing the talent structure, so asto improve the operational management level and its actual effect, and to bring good benefit.
