With the globalization, the logistics area has gradually realized industrializationand plays a decisive role in each economic over the world. As the best second-tiercities of China, Chongqing located in the center of the southwest part of China, whichhas a very good geographical condition to develop logistics industry. Recent years,with the good development of economy in Chongqing, the three main industries havealso got a good development which has led to the development of the logisticsindustry. Not only did an increasing number of local logistics enterprises emerged,but also the top500famous logistics companies settle down in Chongqing to makeprofit. Although the number of the logistics company has been increased, but the levelof them is far away behind the developed countries. Hence, it seems vital to know therelationship between development of the logistics industry and economic growth inorder to know the importance of the logistic industry.First of all, based on the former studies of the relationship between the logisticsindustry and economic growth outside and inside the country, the author plansframework of this article. Then this article uses a qualitative analysis to find out thefactors which promote the development of logistics and the obstacles which block theprocess. Then the author uses the method of contribution analysis to find out therough contribution rate of the logistics industry to economic growth and put forwardthe main question to be solved: what is the exact relationship between the logisticsindustry and economic growth. This article uses four times regression analysis andco-integration analysis. The results show: the development of logistics industry canlead to the economic growth at short time; the interactivity between the logisticsindustry and the tertiary industry is very weak; in the long run, the relevance betweenthe logistics industry and the primary industry is strong but not stronger than the secondary industry. At last, this article puts forward some correspondingrecommendations based on the conclusion.
