Based on the unemployment insurance system, this paper was about the impact on the re-employment of retired athletes. Through the definition of the group of retired athletes, the analysis of its characteristics, the review of the development of the unemployment insurance system in our our country, and such theories as the pattern--"Income-Leisure", the job-searching theory, and the time and sequence model, it analyzed the impacts from the waiting period, the payment level, the payment dealine and payment methods in order to achieve active ways for this impact. However, there were certain problems; for instance, the insufficient unemployment-insurance support for the re-employment training, the weak ability for the re-employment training and guidance, narrow payment projects, low payment standard, long payment period, and the single payment methods, which made the promotion of the unemployment insurance system not maximized. Therefore, this paper pointed out five recommendations to strengthen the unemployment insurance of retired athletes. First, match the legal system to the re-employment of unemployment insurance. Second, set up the system of re-employment vocational training for retired athletes and strengthen unemployment insurance to promote the function of re-employment of retired athletes. Third, adjust the unemployment insurance for retired athletes, such as the rational waiting period, the payment level, the payment deadline, the payment methods and so on. Forth, sound the monetary compensation system to set up the assistance. Fifth, broaden the channels for re-employment and promote the cultural quality of athletes.
