As one of the main industry of the third industry in our country, Catering industry has entered a turning point in2003. The current situation is going into a low stage. At this critical moment, the existing restaurants competition is more and more fierce, it is not only reflected in the Image,but also the competition ofhuman resources,which is the core power for a restaurant. The Modern HR management skills are very important in the enterprise,Motivation mechanisms for employeesare key to humanresources management, it has already been a very important subject for Business Executive.This report is to conduct a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the existing performance appraisal system for the restaurant, based on the3M Restaurant performance appraisal system status and characteristics, combined with the theory and methods of modern performance evaluation, and to find out the problems also suggest improvements and take into consideration which will help3M Restaurant to design a more scientific and reasonable, effective performance appraisal system in order to truly mobilize the initiative of employees. In that case, the restaurant and staff can finally achieve win-win sustainable development.This paper is divided into six parts. The first chapter is the introduction part, describes the research background, significance, research ideas and methods. The second chapter is the literature review section, focuses on performance evaluation from a number of domestic and foreign research results. The third chapter describes the knowledge involved in the theor3M of performance evaluation. Chapter IV presents the existing performance appraisal system of3M Restaurant and the status of implementation, pointing out deficiencies. Last chapter tries to improve performance appraisal system in3M, and focus on how dealing with the problem and difficulties which may occur in the processing of the new appraisal system development. The final chapter is the conclusions. In this report, based on the study of staff performance appraisal system in3M Restaurant, not only a strong operational performance evaluation system was suggested, but also some useful experience was provided for3M to establish and improve the performance appraisal system.
