Countermeasures Of Cultivation Industry Development Of Panax Ginseng In Yanbian

Panax ginseng, the first of the three treasures in Northeast, is a specialty industrial resource in Jilin province and one of the pillar industries in Yanbian areas. By the end of2013, the cultivated area of ginseng reached3,156.4hectares, the yield was8,044.5tons in Yanbian. In recent years, ginseng processing industry in Yanbian has been developed rapidly, its scale is continually expanding, highly and heavily processed products are also increasingly abundant. However, there are still many problems during ginseng industry in Yianbian including traditional mode of processing industry, weak basis of the industrial development, the reduction of farm land, and the extensive cultivation or management. Therefore, the measures such as changing the mode of the traditional industry and actively and steadily promoting the ginseng planting in non-forest land, are very important for protecting forest resource, maintaining ecological balance, rapidly establishing new strategic industries, promoting sustainable and healthy ginseng industry development.This paper described the ginseng cultivated history and main distribution in Changbai Mountain area of China, introduced the efficient components in ginseng and its functions, investigated the status of ginseng cultivation industry in Yanbian, and analyzed the positive and negative factors on ginseng cultivation and processing industry. Finally, several countermeasures and suggestions are provided for further ginseng industry development in Yanbian.
