| Electronic information industry, which has high technology content, high added value,less pollution, great potential and driving force for the economic and social development, isstrategic, fundamental and leading pillar industry for the national economy. The developmentof electronic information industry plays an important role in economic and socialdevelopment.In China, Shandong Province has a large electronic information industry. Itsindustry advantages are very obvious, both in its industrial scale and its R&D capabilities.Shandong electronic information industrial cluster has been already in appearance in a certainsize. At present, Shandong electronic information industrial cluster is facing new challengesand opportunities. To build the competitiveness of Shandong electronic information industrycluster furtherly, is of strategic significance to achieve rapid breakthrough of electronicinformation technology and industrial development, seize the commanding heights oftechnology and talent, improve the overall innovation capability, enhance the economicsustainable development capability and core competitiveness of Shandong Province.This paper conducts an in-depth research and discussion on competitiveness ofShandong electronic information industry cluster. Firstly, this paper introduces the researchbackground, significance, research status at home and abroad, makes a necessary theoreticalgroundwork for further study. Then, it outlines the concepts of electronic information industry,industry cluster and the competitiveness of industrial cluster, introduces the developmentsituation of electronic information industry in China briefly. On the basis of previous studyingand the GEM model, this paper designs an evaluation index system of electronic informationindustry cluster’s competitiveness. Then, applying the GEM analysis method, gives acomprehensive evaluation to the competitiveness of Shandong electronic information industrycluster, and compares with other domestic electronic information industry cluster. Finally, thispaper gives a conclusion and an analysis, points out some forward policy suggestions tofurther improve the competitiveness of Shandong electronic information industrial cluster. |
