Since the rise of RFID in1990s, it quickly gets a lot of attention of many companies inthe supply chain management field, becomes a hot researching spot both in China andforeign countries, gains wide interests of various research institutions and is recognizedas one of the most important technologies in supply chain management in21st century.Due to the characteristics of the FMCG itself, there are strict time limits in procurement, manufacture, storage and transportation, distribution and sale, making that the productsshould be sold as soon as possible. This shows that the need of RFID in FMCG industryis more urgent than in other industries. Therefore, it is very important to study the impactof RFID on the performance of FMCG supply chain. Based these reasons, this paper iswritten. In this research, the paper firstly elaborates its background, purpose, meaning andstructure. Then the paper reviews the resource-based view, RFID, FMCG and supplychain and its performance which are closely related to the research, as the theoryfoundation. After that, by summarizing above literature, the paper builds a framework forthe research and presents five hypotheses to be texted. These hypotheses are as follows, hypothesis H—“the ability of using RFID has a positive impact on the performance ofFMCG Supply Chain”—is the main hypothesis. Hypothesis Ha is that “RFID has apositive impact on the performance of FMCG Supply Chain in information collection”.Hypothesis Hb is that “RFID has a positive impact on the performance of FMCG SupplyChain in information transmission”. Hypothesis Hc is that “RFID has a positive impacton the performance of FMCG Supply Chain in information storage”. Hypothesis Hd isthat “RFID has a positive impact on the performance of FMCG Supply Chain ininformation use”. These four hypotheses are sub-hypotheses. After the present of thehypotheses, the questionnaire is determined to be the study method. Based on the studymethod, the sampling scheme is designed, the measurement scale is constructed and thedata analysis methods are confirmed. When the preparations are all finished and thequestionnaires are successfully recovered, the study can enter the next phase—dataanalysis and text. In this phase, the work is mainly to enter the collected data of questionnaire and to process the entered data with SPSS. To get the needed statisticaleigenvalues, the process includes descriptive statistical analysis, reliability analysis, validity analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis. According to thepreviously determined criteria, the statistical eigenvalues are used to determine whetherthe five hypotheses pass the text. Finally, according to the text results; it can draw theconclusions that all the five hypotheses pass the text and the five hypotheses can beconsidered right. The detail conclusions are that the ability of using RFID does have apositive impact on the performance of FMCG Supply Chain and RFID does havepositive impacts on the performance of FMCG Supply Chain respectively in informationcollection, information transmission, information storage and information use. Whengetting the conclusions, the paper also obtains some enlightenments from the study. These enlightenments can guide FMCG companies how to use RFID to improve theperformance of their supply chains. In addition, at the end of the paper, some limitationsand future directions of the study are also pointed out, which can be the references tolater researchers.
