Tourism is recognized as a sunrise industry in the world, in recent years the tourismindustry in the world is booming, especially with the2008Olympic Games held in Beijingand the2010world expo held in Shanghai. China’s tourism industry got a rapid development.The United Nations World Tourism Organization predicted that China will become theworld’s largest inbound tourism country and the fourth largest outbound tourists’ country in2015, At that time it will be the world’s largest domestic tourism market, hence people whowith special skills will become the most popular talents. They will be the major force topromote the development of tourism industry in China.Tourism can not speedily develop without the support of tourism education. In October2012, the Chinese Ministry of Education has promulgated a new catalog about the coursearrangement of the undergraduate university in2012, tourism management has independencefrom business management and parallel with it, tourism management consists of tourismmanagement, hotel management, exhibition economy and management majors, and a specialcourse named tourism management and service education. The change of subject categorymade the university to have a rethink about the course arrangement of the tourismmanagement education. And China’s Tourism management graduates are not in conformitywith the tourism market requirements.The low employment rate and high turnover ratebecome a common phenomenon on the tourism industry. This is the waste of educationresources and it seriously hindered the development of the tourism industry.This paper aims to learn experience from the Switzerland tourism education to promotethe development of tourism education in China. Cause the Switzerland tourism education hasa high reputation in the world and its employment rate high than98%.In this paper we are trying to find out the different about the undergraduate education oftourism between the China and Switzerland. In order to perfect the system of tourismeducation in China and improve the level of China tourism education.
