Since China's reform and opening up 30 years, the tourism industry undergoes the development process from nihility to exist, from small to large. At the same time, China has achieved a historic leap from the large-scale tourism resources country to the major worldwide tourism country. The undertaking of tourism education, which emerges with the needing of tourism development, has gone through a similar process and trains a lot of talents for the tourism industry. Nevertheless, we also should see that there are still many deficiencies and gaps when we compares to those large tourism country which has relatively mature and professional tourism education. This article hopes to learn some useful experiences of French tourism education by Sino-French comparative study, then to promote the further development of higher education in China, especially to improve the quality and level of the undergraduate tourism education.This article tries to find out the differences and disparities between China's and French tourism undergraduate educations by comparing the two countries. This article are five points of view for comparing, that are the channel of entry, the target of personnel training, the setting of curriculum, the methods of teaching, the staff of teaching and the practice of society. After comparing from these perspectives, we find that the tourism education in France have many areas and things which worth attending and learning. In order to improve the educational system of tourism and levels of education, under the premise of integrating the actual conditions in China, the article outlines some constructive proposals and measures, e.g. appropriately expanding the way of entry and reinforcing the cooperation of schools; further clarifying the target of personnel training and emphasizing the internationalization of personnel training; making a optimization on the professional curriculum and emphasizing the second language learning; innovating the model of traditional teaching and training the practice-based teachers; paying attention to the students'professionalism and focusing on the role of practice. From the perspective of comparative education, this article compares scientifically the tourism undergraduate education between China and France. After the comparison, we can reference the useful elements from the French tourism undergraduate education, which help to promote the development of China's tourism education and the training the higher level tourism professionals.
