A Study On The Commercial Engagement And Social Change Of The Junction Of Fujian Province, Zhejiang Province And Jiangxi Province From The Ming Dynasty To The Republic Of China

Guangxin County,Quzhou County and Jianning County belong to the JiangxiProvince,Zhejiang Province and Fujian Province. Judging from the geographicallocations,the three counties are linked with each other and have similar environmentalconditions. During the period of the Guangzhou’s only port,here has been prosperityof transit trade with its social economy developed accordingly.After five portsopening,coastal ports opened and traded with foreigners.Shanghai replacedGuangzhou as China’s foreign trade center. The pattern of trade has been changed.And the export trade which was merely working in Guangzhou can be either workingin Shanghai. A transition happened in the trade routes. Under such a background，Guangxin County,which enjoys a unique geographic advantage and benefited greatlyby the transit trade had loses its superiority. Accompany with the change of the traderoutes and the imported goods impac,the market of Quzhou County and JianningCounty are also in a constant state of flux. Then,a new method of transporting freightand people was here to stay. Thus,a new change of the interstate commerce had takenplace. This paper discusses the business conditions of this area occurring at the periodof the Guangzhou’s only port and the period of five ports opened.This thesis consists of three parts:The first part illustrate the distributive conditions by way of introducing thepattern of the three area and the condition of the Land and water communications.The sacond part discusses from three aspects: the economic activity ofmerchant leagues,the number of counties and the merchandise trade in these threecounties. This part focuses on the influence of the economic activity and the transittrade.In the third part some great events in history such as The five ports trading andJiuJiang open and trade with foreigners will be approach to study which relates to theinfluences in these area that caused by the the changes in the field of market and trade road.
