Retirement system is closely related to the quality of life for all people. Currently, the relevant provisions of retirement age began in1951’s "Labor Insurance Regulations." Then, after half a century of development, socio-economic development and people’s living standard have changed. Except for some workers in specific industries as well as senior professionals, our retirement system is almost no change. The average life expectancy of the population is also rising. As the sixth national census, the average life expectancy of our population has reached74.83years old; the country has reached a degree of aging highest level in history. Facing high average life expectancy and an aging population, coupled with the relatively less perfect pension system, pension payments crisis in our country is increasingly apparent, overburdened social pension has caused great concern in the community. In addition, China’s average years of schooling of the population have also been improved, which led to workers’initial working-age constantly on the move. Although the initial working age rose, the country’s retirement age is relatively fixed. This greatly shortens the working lives of workers. The above problems have aroused strong concern in the community.This paper focuses on the feasibility of postponing retirement age in our country and our country’s suitability to delay retirement stage based on characteristics demonstrated. In the analysis of the issues, this article follows the logical sequence. Firstly, this article reviewed the provisions of retirement age from the founding of our country and expounded China’s current development and implementation of the relevant provisions of the retirement age of the historical background and the problems faced. Then, this article analyzed the impact of retirement on the basis of factors (including realistic physiological factors work factors and theoretical learning factors) and the impact of delayed retirement (including the favorable factors and barriers factors).At the same time, through the introduction of foreign delay the retirement age to make our way to delay the retirement age policy design to be inspired and learn.
