As green economy is emerging around the world amid growing global warming, many countries have invested heavily to support innovative development in such fields as green and low-carbon technologies, and new energy. China is witnessing vigorous economic development and ever-increasing investment in electricity, energy and environmental stewardship whiling attaching greater importance to small and medium-sized enterprises. E electric company is embracing an unprecedented development opportunity. That being side, given the advancement in electric automation technology and the changes in industrial competition landscape, the original development strategy of the company couldn’t adapt to its dynamic environment, leaving its sustainable development at risk. As such, it’s imperative to adjust its strategy. This paper works to provide certain reference for its strategic decision-making by analyzing the future development strategy of E electric company based on strategic management knowledge.The paper initially takes stock of issues of unsustainable development faced by E electric company and the necessity for strategic adjustment. Then, the paper clarifies that the company is well-poised to execute differentiated strategy by analyzing the external macro environment, industrial competition and internal resources of the company with PEST, Michael Porter’s Five Forces Mode, the advantage of the many facets of laid a foundation to implement differentiation strategy; and proposes that differentiated strategy comes as an inevitable choice for E electric company through comparison with the cost leadership strategy and focus strategy. Built on this, the paper launches a comprehensive review on the strong and weak points, opportunities and threats of the company with SWOT analysis, and identifies the plan suitable for the differentiated strategy based on the strategic analysis of competitors. Finally, the paper puts forward measures for implementing and supporting the differentiated strategy from the perspectives of quality, product, and service, with a view to ensure the smooth delivery thereof.The research conclusion of the paper is practical for E electric company to develop and deliver its development strategy and is also referential for other electric power automation companies in China.
