Environment in the domestic autoindustry is changing dramatically. The competitive environment we faced becomes morecomplex since economic globalization brings a broad space for China’s economicdevelopment, China’s auto industry is in unprotected under government as before. Inorder to win in the fierce market mirrors they must proceed from themselves, playingtheir own comparative advantage and being able to fill the gap as the same time makingprogress and seeking their own development, then they will achieve victory. Chinashould establish the ambition that China automotive enterprises move beyond China andemerge in the world. Not only to win but also in the domestic market continues to fightback to open up foreign markets.With scientific and effective methods to establish performance evaluation model inconnection with China’s automotive business characteristics at this stage, to evaluate theperformance of the automobile business allowing us to recognize our own situation,understanding own comparative advantages as the same time finding own inadequatethus improving lack comparative advantage enable business focus to improve businessperformance as a goal and to be used to promote enterprise development. It has a veryimportant significance at this stage. We choose FAW as the research object for thatChina’s FAW Car has served as a benchmark for auto companies, known asrepresentatives of successful companies. It makes a great contribution to the development of China’s automobile industry. After joining the WTO, FAW Car hopes to improve theirmanagement and technical level by taking the lead to attract foreign capital andimporting technology. It can be said that FAW has a glorious history. But the FAW indeedfaces the dilemma of declining market share which is the common problems faced by themajority of our automotive business. Therefore, the choice of performance evaluationFAW has a strong representation. Through the establishment of performance evaluationmodel for performance evaluation, FAW can make themselves grasp a clearunderstanding such that they can find FAW problems and improve themselves besidespromoting their developments. Because of FAW’s strong representation we haveestablished a performance evaluation model and apply to other auto companies that havethe same background. Through performance evaluation, we can find the problem facedby FAW Car and improve business performance based on this proposed recommendation.This can be applied to companies facing the same problem.Contents of this paper: through the development and research situation of enterpriseperformance at home and abroad as well as brief introduction of performance appraises,we set up the principles of performance evaluation system according to auto companies.The use of established performance evaluation system for FAW performance evaluationis to find reasons for the decrease according to the evaluation results and the currentmarket share of FAW. Finally, we found the problem, put forward proposals to improvecorporate performance.Through performance evaluation we can focus on how to improve enterprisebusiness performance and then make a more suitable business development decisions. Atthe same time this empirical research also shows that the establishment of this article forour automotive business performance evaluation system is accurate and feasible. Alsothis is a very important attempt that applied this method to the automobile industry toplay its role of performance evaluation.
