Developingexport-oriented agriculture is intrinsic requirement for our country to meet thechallenge of joining WTO and to enhance the combined competitive power ofagriculture. It is also a necessary choice for the deep-going development ofagriculture industrialization and agriculture modernization.After the Central Xinjiang work informal discussion, firm and thrive Xinjiang,enrich the people and consolidate the boundary, realize the leapfrog developmentand long term stability has been become a common wish of Party and state as long asvarious nation in Xinjiang. Agriculture is the most strategic and basic industry ofXinjiang, it occupies an important position in regional economy and socialdevelopment of Xinjiang. With the further improvement of China’s socialist marketeconomic system and the advancement of the west development, the economy ofXinjiang is growing rapidly, agriculture and rural economy have made substantialprogress. The agricultural products of Xinjiang have considerable export potential.However, Xinjiang is still in the early and pioneering stage of export-orientedagricultural development, new challenges and development problems are constantlyemerging. How to make the advantage of agriculture production turn into exportadvantage is a big problem our distinct faced with.This paper choose the export-oriented agriculture in Xinjiang as research object,take the method of comparative advantage, typical survey, qualitative and quantitative analysis methods, in accordance with the ideal of the “Basic theory－Status quo analysis－Put forward countermeasures”, based on generalunderstanding of the concept of export-oriented agriculture, basic characteristics andtheoretical basis, combined the agriculture development practices at home andabroad, make an objective analysis and discussion of the existing model ofXinjiang’s export-oriented agriculture, using the SWOT, make preliminaryunderstanding of main characteristics, comparative advantage and the bottleneckswhich will affect long-term development of Xinjiang’s export-oriented agriculturedevelopment at the current stage, from the angle of the plan as a whole andinnovating the development mode of export-oriented agriculture, drawing on thesuccessful experience of aboard and brother provinces, put forward the thinking,countermeasures and suggestions of realizing sustainable development of Xinjiang’sexport-oriented agriculture.
