Research On The International Competitiveness Of China’s Power Equipment Manufacturing Firms

Under the fierce competition, like multinational company expansion and grapping Chinese market share, the Chinese Power Equipment Manufacturing firms have to face hose challenges. There exists cap between Chinese power equipment firms and the world’s leading firms in aspects of firm scale, capital investment and R&D. It is meaningful to value the competitiveness of China’s power equipment manufacturing firms.This paper adopts qualitative and quantitative methodology. Based on the firms’ performance and market competition pattern, this paper establishes Firm Evaluation Index System. The complete evaluation index system consists of four first-class indexes, namely competitive actual strength, competitive potential and competitive basis. These first-class indexes sets targets of8second-class indexes, namely performance, scale, product, technology, corporate finance, multinational operation, corporate governance, environment indexes.It evaluates the competitiveness of13China’s power equipment manufacturing firms and4world’s leading firms using14detail indexes. Finally, it reaches the rank of these firms and gets the comprehensive score.This paper builds power equipment Firms Evaluation Index System and tries to analyze the strength and weakness of Chinese power equipment firms. Based on the result, it gives the suggestions to improve the competitiveness.
