With the on-going development achieved in China’s foreign trade, the number of anti-dumping investigations faced by China is going on an ascend trend. As anti-dumping duty is frequently used as one of anti-dumping measures, the study on the effects that anti-dumping duties exerting on related industries in China bears magnificent importance. This paper focuses on the PV industry in China, based on which an analysis is given for the impact of anti-dumping duty. Thus, this paper not only contributes to the reasonable response taken by PV industries when faced with anti-dumping, but also facilitates the government’s sensible support for PV industry under the background of anti-dumping. By case study method, and in combination with the EU PV dual case, this paper explores to the influence of anti-dumping duty on China’s PV industry, further proves the varied impacts on enterprises of varied levels, and by a comparison between financial data of two listed companies, a certification is given that positive solutions are conductive to withstand the untoward effect of anti-dumping duties.This paper is sufficiently indentified in six sections. The initial section introduces the background, research purposes, literature review, as well as the overview of this paper.The subsequent section presents the essentials of anti-dumping duties, in which related concepts are given. The economic effects and investigation effects of anti-dumping duties are explained In sequence.The following section gives an overview of the PV industry. It introduces the related concepts of PV industry and illuminate its state of development in China.The fourth section focuses on the influence of anti-dumping duty on China’s PV industry in situation of EU PV dual case. By an analysis of factual data, this paper detects a fact that anti-dumping duties exerts influence on the PV industry in China, which include:(1) the reduction of PV products’ exports to EU;(2) the augment in PV products’ exports to emerging markets;(3) the varied impact received by enterprises in varied levels;(4) the damage to the preponderance of leading enterprises in Importers.The fifth section analysis the financial data of two representative firms under the case of EU PV dual case. Based on the financial data of this two listed firms, this paper finds out that the effect anti-dumping duties varied among various enterprises. And a further probe into its causes leads to the conclusion that active solutions can effectively compensate the adverse impact made by the anti-dumping duty on China’s PV industry.The final section goes to the conclusion and suggestion. Based on a conclusion of this paper, suggestions are given from the perspective of government’s support in PV industry as well as emerging industries, and, in a more general view, the perspective of the improvement in the coping strategies of related companies when faced with anti-dumping.The innovation of this article mainly resides in the contents and methods. As the researches done on the economic effects of anti-dumping duties mainly took the theoretical approach and the empirical approach, and mainly focused on the Importers while the Exporters have received less attention. This paper adopts the case study method as an implementation, which tries to give an in-depth analysis on EU PV dual case and brings the influence of anti-dumping duties on China’s PV industry to light. Furthermore, as existing studies have not yet made a distinction among enterprises of different levels within one industry, this paper shed light on the differentiated effects of anti-dumping duties exerted on them.
