Research On Water Privatization In Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone

With the rapid growth of population, the advancement ofurbanization is increasingly the shortage of water resources, watersupply importantly impacts on economic growth in various countries andvarious areas all over the world. Taking Guangxi Beibu Gulf EconomicZone for example, the problem of the water privatization is studied, ithas important theoretical and practical significance. The problem of thewater privatization is not only a theoretical problem but a practicalissue.Water privatization is not only an inevitable trend, but also anecessary requirement to promote the reform of public utilities.Based on the theory of public goods and public choice theory, thispaper takes a detailed study of the development situation and existingproblem of the water industry in Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone. itanalyzes and learns from experiences of the water privatization in thethree countries—the United Kingdom, the United States, and France. Onthis basis, it has made suggestions to promote water privatization.Based on the case studies and comparative analysis, in order topromote the water privatization of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone inGuangxi, the paper proposes to strengthen water regulatory system,establish the water market which has some investors of diversification,improve tariff adjustment dynamic mechanism. All these suggestions forgovernment departments related decision-making has a certain referencevalue.
