ABSTRACT:In recent years, China’s economic development and urbanization has been accelerating, more and more people concentrate in large cities, due to, agglomeration functionality and traffic issues congestion appear in China’s large cities following urban population growth. Meanwhile, city building functions gradually go toward the direction of diversification and intensification, so in recent years, a large number of new large-scale rail transport stations has been constructed, which will contribute to the agglomeration and improve city operating efficiency of urban functions; achieve a series of urban economic and social reactions such as the elements integration of urban space and catalytic a variety of functions. The function of urban rail transport can not only meet the needs of urban passenger transport, but also affect land use nature along the line by certain mechanisms, guiding the development of urban spatial morphology. Because of this, the research of rail transit on the catalytic and integration of urban function is particularly urgent.The paper mainly focuses on the influence of the urban rail transport on urban function. We began with analysis of urban rail transit construction site in the background, features, and future trends, combine with research on the rail transit complex and urban functions at home and abroad, besides we are concerned about the traffic guide urban development about traffic and urban development from abroad, public transport oriented development (TOD) and the city catalyst theory, compared to cases on rail transit complex in Japan, London, Hong Kong and Beijing and other cities. We study the impact of rail transit complex on urban functions from the the two aspects of catalytic and integration. Summarizes and excavated the interactions and impact of China’s rail transit complex construction the status on their morphology and function of the surrounding cities. And on this basis, select the Tokyo Station rail transit complex and Osaka Station City as a representative case to characterize the morphology of the urban space form the point of the overall spatial structure, the surrounding urban functions, format development, underground space and transport interchanges to finish the systematic analysis, and sum up experiences and lessons from the successes and failures. Then combine the design practice of Line One in Xiamen City Square station complex from the perspective of the overall transportation hubs around the region and project planning and design, traffic space transportation system design and integration of creating public space, then investigate and try the regional spatial strategy shape design ideas and methods of rail transit complex surrounding the city center. Finally, summarize the results, and put forward some feasible ideas and strategic advice on the rail transit complex in conjunction of urban functions.
