Into the21st century, we are faced with increasingly severe problems include the global warming, air pollution, the fast decline in reserve of the non-renewable fossil energy:coal, oil, gas, etc. It has become a consensus in the international community to save energy, reduce emissions, and use new source of energy. This year, with the fog and haze, the vehicle of new energy, driven by electricity, with lower emission, renewable source of energy, and the concept of Tesla that stirs the A shares, has become a hot topic. Various enterprises have made efforts to develop multiple products of electric power automobile. However, even under the favorable policies include subsidy and the no-line-up privilege in Beijing, the handicap-a lack of assorted charging equipment-still exists and restricts the sales and development of electric cars. It can be predicted that infrastructure for charging will be built in the future to support the development of electric power automobile. Present charging methods include battery replacing stations, charging stations, charging piles, corresponding to two types of charging equipment-charging piles, chargers, each has their advantages and disadvantages. Both types of equipment have prospects for further development, and the opportunities of investments of related individual shares will draw close attention from investors. This work is focused on the value of investments in charging equipment industry of China. The principal problems discussed in this paper are:1. Status of development of electric power automobile, along with the problems that still exist;2. Potential for growth in the industry, from the perspective of demands;3. Status of industry chain and of competition, from the perspective of delivery;4. In order to look for investors that will benefit from the growth of the industry, this paper analyses the relating stocks from the basic and the financial parts. This research starts with the development of electric power automobile industry, firstly illustrates the necessity of development from the dependence on foreign oil, the demand for environmental protection and for the transition in automobile industry, along with description of the status of development and policies of electric power automobile industry in China. Secondly, this paper indicates that the lagging in assorted charging equipment is the main factor that restricts the development of the industry. A comparison of the quantity of possession and the establishment of charging equipment between China and the United States indicates that a progress in the establishment of equipment is urgent in our country. By the analysis of concrete equipment, the paper demonstrates that two types of charging equipment-charging piles and chargers-both have the potential for development. This paper also analyses the industry chain of charging piles and chargers. It concludes that the maximal profit distribution part is the production of the overall charging equipment. The key to success in the industry is the cooperation between the producer of the overall equipment, the provider of overall solution and large power line companies, as well as a widespread channel of distribution. By the use of Michael Porter’s five forces model, the paper analyses the structure of competition relationship in the charging equipment industry, and concludes that the suppliers inside the industry are weaker in price negotiating, the major purchasers, such as power line companies, are stronger while personal purchasers are weaker. Potential joiners become a major threat to the industry. Also, there is a lack of substitutes for the product and the competition inside the industry is fierce. Finally an analysis from the basis of the operation status of three major enterprises in the industry reveals that they all have opportunities in the expansion of charging equipment. As a good financial status is required in order to grab the opportunities, the paper compares and analyses the financial status of the three enterprises, thereby mining the opportunities for investments in the charging equipment industry. These factors which influence stock price should be showed by exemplified result to make intellectual cogitation more ngorous.
