Research On The Relationship Between Economic Growth And Energy Consumption In Hunan Province From The View Of Industrial Structure

Energy sources are a critical material foundation for social and economicdevelopment, with the rapid development of economy, the total energy consumption isincreasing, the tension of energy demand is gradually strengthening, energy issuesbecome an increasingly important issue of social and economic development. Energysources are an important driving force for economic development in Hunan province,the economy of Hunan province are based on most of coal consumption, few of oiland natural gas consumption, the new energy are fewer developed and utilized. SinceHunan province proposed construction of “two-oriented society”, in order to developeconomy, it must transform mode of economic growth, adjust industrial structure andpromote economic development mode of energy-saving, a rapid economicdevelopment in Hunan is leading to a rapid increase in energy demand, but imbalanceof adequate energy supply and demand in Hunan will affect the sustainable economicdevelopment. Therefore, the article will make a depth analysis study based on therelationship between economic growth and energy consumption in Hunan form theperspective from the industrial structure, we will seek countermeasures to promotesustainable development of Hunan’s economic growth and energy consumption bytrying to adjust industrial structure and ensure security of energy supply, we willprovide guidance of policy for construction of “two-oriented society” in Hunan.Firstly, we drew result of the domestic and international research on therelationship between economic growth and energy consumption, the contents ofarticle are about a research on the relationship between economic growth and energyconsumption in Hunan province from the view of industrial structure, while weintroduce theory of economy and energy, the theory of industrial structure and relatedeconometric mode, the contents provide a theoretical basis and analysis method for the article.Secondly, we obtain results of industrial structure of economic development andenergy consumption in Hunan by making a research on the current situation ofeconomic development and energy consumption, we have a depth research on therelationship between economic development and energy consumption, we make anempirical analysis on the relationship between economic growth and energyconsumption, the result provides a good basis for analysis of below of the article.Finally, we select data of economic development and energy consumption of thefirst, second and third industry form1990to2012years in Hunan province bygathering the relevant data, we establish econometrical model of the industrialstructure, energy consumption and economical growth in Hunan province, the result isthat the secondary industry is the main cause of long-term increase in energyconsumption, energy consumption is the driving force of the development of the thirdindustry. Therefore, we put forward the relevant suggestions form the perspective ofadjustment in industrial structure and security of energy supply, in order to promotesustainable development of economic growth and energy consumption.
