| The development of "one village one product" in Guangdong Province started early in China, and the construction of specialized demonstration villages and towns have achieved obvious effect. However, the relevant studies are not enough, nor in-depth. Basing on identifying the meaning of "one village one product", this paper extensively collected data and expounded on the development status of domestic and overseas "one village one product" as well as the background, origin and status of the development of "one village one product" in Guangdong province. Moreover, the theoretical basis for developing "one village one product" in Guangdong Province were put forward, which include division of cooperation theory; theory of regional economy; theory of industrial cluster; theory of agricultural industry chain management; theory of the selection of leading industry, and theory of the industrialization of agriculture. Furthermore, on the preconditions of acquiring the basic experience and enlightenment of "one village one product" by analyzing the collected data and literatures, the in-depth analysis on the advantages, disadvantages, opportunities and challenges of the development of "one village one product" in Guangdong Province were analyzed via applying SWOT method. Thus from macro and micro combination angle, this paper proposed the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for the development of "one village one product" in Guangdong Province respectively from the four aspects of producers, village collective, government and society.The main advantages for the development of "one village one product" in Guangdong Province include:(1) locating in coastal areas with convenient transportation;(2) diversified land, climate suitable for agriculture;(3) large population, and strong consumption ability;(4) clustering development, and numerous leading enterprises and industries. In addition, its disadvantages mainly include:(1) low clustering scale, scattered regional distribution;(2) low specialization level, and low standardization extent;(3) low knowledge level and low organization extent of farmers;(4) less famous brands and low competitive power.The suggestions provided from the layer of producers for promoting the development of "one village one product" in Guangdong Province include:(1) changing traditional concept;(2) improving self quality;(3) developing family farm. In addition, the suggestions provided from the layer of village collective include:(1) initiating and developing farmers’ cooperative organizations;(2) selecting leading industries;(3) carrying out investment promotion. Moreover, the suggestions provided from the layer of society include:(1) improving standardized production;(2) strengthening quality test;(3) developing training education. |
