With the wave of global urban competition and urbanization, China’surban construction has already entered a period of rapid developmentwhich focuses on new construction, old city regeneration and infrastructureconstruction. The traditional theory of urban planning and constructionmode become more and more difficult to adapt to the overwhelming cityconstruction situation.Based on the reality mentioned above, the concept of urbandevelopment programming is proposed in this thesis with the hope tointegrate and reference the contents of Programming, Management,Marketing, Urban Planning and other relevant disciplines, and to build asystem of planning theory which can be applied through the entire processof urban construction. I hope the theory will provide rational referencesand suggestions for urban construction and be able to work as a tool in thefields of construction management and project quality control for the urbandevelopment department. The research mainly consists of three matters: firstly, with theanalysis on the pattern of conventional urban construction, the necessity ofurban development programming is put forward; Secondly, the detailedclarifications on the theory of urban development and planning willexplain the principles, framework and methods of it; the third one is aboutfurther elaboration of the methods based on the conjunction of real projectsanalysis and urban development programming theory. This research is focused on the correlation of disciplines and strongpractical applicability. The process involves professional knowledge ofvarious disciplines and builds up a complete theoretical system of urban development and planning with the incorporation of applications on actualprojects, which will be of practical value for future references.
