In recent years, global climate change has become the focus to the internationalcommunity. China as the world’s big greenhouse gas emissions country burdens hugepressure to reduce emissions. Because of China’s regional imbalance economic development, differentiation analysis of China’s CO2emissions for different regions and sectors mayidentify the main regions and sectors of CO2emissions and formulate reasonable strategiesto reduce CO2emissions.The paper studies the linkage of CO2emissions among China’s regions from threeperspective based on China’s regional input-output table in2007. Firstly, this paper usesmulti-region input-output model to calculate CO2emissions embodied in China’s regionaltrade. Then we analyzes the industies’carbon linkage of northeast, North Municipalities, north coast, east coast, south coast, central, northwest and southwest from regional leverusing hypothetical extraction method. Finally, spillover and feedback effect model ofregional CO2emissions is applied to analyze the sector effect of east, central and west. The result of calculating CO2emissions embodied in China’s regional trade reveals thateast coast has the most emissions by999.4449million tons; the CO2emissions of central is928.2636million tons and North Municipalities has the least emissions by241.491milliontons. Regional industies’carbon linkage analysis results show that output CO2emissions ofthe high carbon industrial group (such as mining industry, petrochemical industry, non-metallic mineral and metal smelting industry, electric power and steam, hot water gas, tapwater production and supply industry) is greater than their demand CO2emissions, and outputCO2emissions of the low carbon industrial group(such as machinery and equipmentmanufacturing, construction, other services) is less than their demand CO2emissions;meanwhile mining industry, petrochemical industry, non-metallic mineral and metal smeltingindustry which are upsteam resource-based industrial group have bigger forward linkage, however, construction industry and other services industry which are downstream industrialgroup have bigger backward linkage. Spillover and feedback effect analysis of regional CO2emissions shows that west, central and east multiplier effect of CO2emissions are45.12,42.65and20.09tons per ten thousand yuan respectively. East’s spillover effect coefficientfrom west and central is7tons per ten thousand yuan which is bigger than not only west’sspillover effect coefficient from east and central but also central’s spillover effect coefficientfrom west and east.In addition, we found that sectors which consume more energy emit more CO2, such as electricity and hot water, gas, steam, water production and supply industry, mining industry, petrochemical industry, metal smelting and products. Therefore, upgrading the export trade structure of coastal regions, optimizing productionflow, improvingproduction technologyand enhancing sectors’energyefficiencyare essentialmeasures for the development of low carbon economy in China.
