| Due to the prosperity of the household appliances industry, companies who providecomponents and parts for them have a good prospect. With the seriously treatment for theresearch and technology, company S has its role in the industry. Yet achieving the biggestprofit is not based on the advanced technology, but combining the technology andproduction process improvement.This paper makes a research about how to optimize production process and decreaseinventory of company S by using the theory of VSM. In the research, current VSM is drawby analyzing the production condition, collecting the production data and determining theproduct families. Then the future VSM is designed by using the Lean Productionphilosophy to identify problems. In order to realize the production process described in thefuture VSM, these three methods are used. VRO tool can decrease the material inventory bymanaging the material suppliers and transporters to improve their delivery ability.KANBAN management method can provide a pull production process to reduce thework-in-process inventory. And ERIM can ensure the continuity of the process byimproving the reliability of equipments. After promoting the improve methods for severalmonths, the new current VSM is made for comparing and continuing analyzing. Byassessing the improve results from both direct and indirect aspects, we can draw theconclusion that VSM can be used to decrease the inventory and optimize the productionprocess. |
