Human resource management continues to be one of important parts contributing tothe success of every company in the world, as well as in Mongolia. With the growingcompetition in the banking, mining and tourist sectors of Mongolia, impact oftechnological change, and a shortage of talented and qualified employees, great pressure isput on human resource managers to deliver business results.This research studies on recruitment and selection practices (R/S) of Mongolianbusiness and manufacturing companies by means of questionnaire survey. The particularfocus of the current research is upon the Recruitment and selection methods used, whetherdifferent practices are used for different categories of staff, and the satisfaction of themore-often-used R/S methods in Mongolian business organizations.This research is based on168pieces of questionnaire which are collected from56Mongolian enterprises. According to the questionnaire, the most common methods forrecruitment are internal promoting, campus recruitment, employee referral, applicationand media publicity; while for selection are application form, one-to-one interview,resume, physical test and recommendation. In addition, the study indicates that differentmethods of recruitment and selection are suit for different jobs. Moreover, the R/Smodel finds that whatever the position is, those employees who are selected by themethods of recruitment and selection are with high satisfaction.Refers to the study, some suggestions are proposed for Mongolian managers.More resource should be input to develop the employees. More methods should beconsidered to be taken in recruitment and selection for different work.
