With the constant marketing of engineering industry, engineering company’smanagement level is vital to their project performance, this makes the science ofengineering management get more and more praise and attention from industryexperts, and the project cost, quality, safety and progress are the most important keypoints of engineering management.Engineering design is the link to carry out important management points duringthe construction project cycle, it is project planning tool and the key point oftechnology and economy, it is also important means to transform science andtechnology into actual products. During the engineering design process, thecompliance and using functions of project designing factors such as value engineering,relationship with construction cost, the depth&function, etc., will have directinfluences on project cost, progress and quality as well as the economic returns atcompletion.This article, taking Cabot Xingtai carbon black project as an example, combinedwith reality, make investment control theory in designing phase as its topic. By usingthe basic theoretical knowledge of investment control, analyzing in depth valueengineering aspect in project management, the article systematically analyzes theproject from initial stage to the end. For different individual cases and commonproblems found during the execution process of the project, using value analysismethod, combining actual status, the article proposes improvement measures andmakes follow-up, finally, based on the execution results, make detailed statement onhow to effectively control the engineering design management.
