Land resources is the basic condition for human survival and development, with theacceleration of industrialization and urbanization in our country, Area for constructive landhas increased dramatically and agricultural land area has decreased, which arouseincreasingly prominent contradiction between man and land. Based on the Niche Theory toland, this paper uses Niche Shift as the research scope, combining the resources of the landuse and the trend of flow and workflow, taking the amount of land use and economic shiftin Tianshui as an example, analyzing that the land use shift in Tianshui City is temporalvariation characteristics, and mastering the utilization of land resources in the process ofregional economic development, to find out in the protection of town building andeconomic development with protecting the land resources. So as to cherish and make agood use of every inch of land, relieve contradiction between population and land which isconductive to optimise the land using structure optimization, as well as governmentdepartments policy making.The main conclusions are as follows:[1] The ecological niche of land use and land resources operation field theory, newmethod for expansion of the research of land use.
