Navigation is still a high risk career, the official statistic number showsthere are about1650thousands of seamen including650thousands of oceansailors in our country. With science and technology developed and improved,the reliability of hundreds of equipments onboard should be higher thanbefore, at the same time, more safety regulations issued by IMO enter intoenforcement to ensure safety of vessel every year, and Normally all kinds ofmarine incidents or accidents should be more and more lowered. But officialstatistic number shows all kinds of marine incidents and accidents is notlowered, but interior think the average characters of sailors is no good,especially the criminal case “Lu Rong Yu2628” was happened and make allpeople heart-shocked. What is the root cause is researching object of thispaper. In fact sailor is a higher anxiety group, this paper will study theantecedents of Job burnout from five big personality.This paper reviews all view opinions of antecedents of job burnoutaccepted by current psychologist and meanings of five dimension of five bigpersonality, summarizes all phenomena of sailors’ anxiety. Basing onabovementioned theory, Analyze sailors’psychology、physiology、thought、 working and living circumstance and social communication network andpoint out five hypothetizes for five dimensions of five big personality andantecedents of job burnout: It is distinct negative correlation betweenantecedent of job burnout and extraversion; and agreeableness; andconscientiousness; and neuroticism; and openness. Then verify allhypothetizes through empirical methods.In order to verify the correlation between sailor’s anxiety and five bigpersonality, the empirical methods was be used with higher reliability andvalidity survey form. More than300pieces of questionnaires were issued andcollected291pieces of effective questionnaires. Statistical results fromsoftware SPSS show that all hypothecs are correct and all questionnaires arehigher reliability. Thinking about all others’ variable maybe affect statisticsresults, we build seven models with variable-five dimensions of five bigpersonality, control variable-demographic parameters, dependentvariable-antecedents of job burnout, and then make multiple regressionanalyses, results prove all hypothecs are completely correct.All sailors are living and working in a closer、more narrow and high riskcircumstance, physiological or psychological was more oppressive and causethe anxiety level is higher than general person group. Verifying fivehypothecs through empirical methods shows five dimensions of five big personality are distinct negative correlation with sailors’ job burnout. Thisprovide one theory explanation for current higher marine accidents andincidents happened. But is also abundant of sailors’ psychological study fieldand can be referred by all managers working on managing sailors, especial inhow to train and choose a qualification sailor? How to organize a bestmanagement vessel’s team to access higher effective works with lower levelanxiety, at the same time lowering frequency rate of marine accidents andincidents, avoiding unnecessarily lost and bring higher benefits of oceancompany.
