The retail industry occupies a very important position in the national economy, is to play a guiding role and beneficial to the people’s livelihood, strong in production and consumption. With GDP increased year by year, the retail industry in a gradual change, for the public to provide convenience to the direction of development.Through the study of retail development situation of retail formats in China and among various regions, factors of development characteristics of China’s retail industry and retail summarized since the 90’s. Use the Eviews6.0 software to do the empirical analysis on the factors influencing the development of retail industry, and the development trend of the retail industry is discussed. Hope to provide a new direction for the development of China’s retail industry, the retail industry is thriving.This paper is divided into five parts: the first part, introduces the background and significance of selection; the second part, introduces the connotation of retail formats and retail formats evolve, and comment on Western classical theories about the evolution of retail formats; the third part, combining with the data from the quantitative analysis, the number of each of the major retail business area, the income of the three aspects,the development status of the main retail formats, and divided into the current situation of China’s retail industry in the West and East in threeareas of study, summed up the impact of various factors; the fourth part,according to the National Bureau of statistics data, using Eviews6.0software to establish the multiple regression model, from GDP,disposable income, urban population to explore the impact of the industrial added value and other aspects of the retail industry; the fifth part, in the beginning of the empirical analysis on the development trend of China’s retail industry to summarize; sixth part, the conclusion, the influence factors on the evolution of retail format sand summarize according to the characteristics of various retail formats targeted suggestions.
